This is my submission for the OST Composing Jam [Sandbox], where the theme is 'Palindrome'!

I primarily created this in Logic Pro, with some additional mixing done in FL Studio.

The theme required me to compose a song that sounds the same when played forward or in reverse. Pivot fully embraces this theme, with both halves being identical whether you're playing it in either direction. Parallel takes a more experimental route: while not a true palindrome, it mirrors the forward and reverse sections, creating two distinct yet intertwined experiences.

The music was composed for a game concept where the protagonist ventures into a mirror dimension—a metaphor for self-discovery. In the game, the mirror dimension serves as a space where the character confronts their external persona (how they present themselves to others) and their internal self (how they see themselves). The two dimensions are connected, but each offers a different perspective on reality. As the player navigates between these worlds, they solve puzzles that require both viewpoints to be understood.

The mirror world doesn't just reflect the environment—it alters it subtly, challenging the player to see things differently. The protagonist's journey is about merging these two sides of their identity. Pivot represents the moment of transition, where the player crosses the threshold between the two worlds. The music builds up in the forward direction and winds down in reverse, symbolizing the emotional and psychological shift. Parallel, on the other hand, reflects the tension of trying to reconcile these two versions of the self, where neither side is identical but both are essential to the whole.

Apart from drum swells on a reversed part, sound chill and full.
